Quiet days of December

Well, it’s still snowing! It’s been snowing for 3 days straight. Most of the time it’s been snowsqualls off of Lake Superior. This morning we woke up to about 20 cm of fresh powder.

It’s quiet. It’s clean. It’s refreshing.

I’m starting to enjoy it for the most part. It’s easier to enjoy when I don’t have to be outside at 6 am cleaning the driveway before work.

The boys were up early Christmas morning and after a whirlwind of paper throwing everything was done. They were then off to dad’s for the week. My mom is gone and they are gone. I am alone.

I’ve been spending the last few days not doing much of anything. Days in pajamas, watching cheesy movies. Not feeling. Not thinking. Just being.

Truthfully, it’s not all that bad being alone these few days. I need the time. Time to sleep. Time to relax. Time to take bubble baths without someone banging down the door. Time to regroup before they are home again. Time to consider all the things I need to get done in the next little while.

But, for today I’m only enjoying the snow and taking a few pictures in the yard.
